Common marmosets are members of the Callitrichid family, a group of tiny monkeys from South America, including marmosets and tamarins.

Although common marmosets are not listed as threatened, the are affected by habitat loss and trapping for the pet trade.

- Not buying exotic animals such as monkeys as pets
