An Evening with the Jewel of York

Date: 23/10/21 - 23/10/21

Time: 5:30pm - 8:00pm

Location: Askham Bryan Wildlife & Conservation Park

Join us here at Askham Bryan Wildlife & Conservation Park as we bring our celebrated Jewel of York trail to a close!

Throughout June, July and August we hid 8 fantasically designed and painted giant beetles for you to find around York, to shine a spotlight on our York community and raise awareness for the threatened tansy beetle (Chrysolina graminis). Since then, our giant beetles have been on display here at our Wildlife Park, delighting our visitors, students and staff, while also showcasing our local communities artistic talents.

On the evening of October 23rd, we'll be auctioning SEVEN of our giant beetles in an effort to raise funds for the Tansy Beetle Action Group (TBAG). Visitors and members of our local community are welcome to explore the park after hours, learn more about this threatened invertebrate, and place a bid on a giant beetle via our silent auction.

Tickets for the event are available here.
