Welcome To
Askham Bryan Wildlife Park
Welcome to Askham Bryan Wildlife & Conservation Park! Opening to visitors in 2017, the wildlife park serves as a hub for the local community, welcoming 20,000 visitors a year as well as hosting schools, young people and other local community groups for tours, talks and workshops. The park is home to over 100 species of mammal, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates – many of which are threatened.
As a member of BIAZA, the wildlife park is part of a group of collections that provide vital education, conservation and research working in the UK and around the world. This ensures we maintain high standards, for both our visitors and our students (who are working towards industry relevant qualifications).

Conservation is at the core of Askham Bryan Wildlife Park. We are committed to driving the development of the future industry with a focus on welfare and conservation; we will do this by engaging students and the wider community in an industry leading facility that represents the diversity of the natural world and promotes inclusive opportunities within an active learning environment.
To facilitate this we:
Participate in Conservation breeding programmes for our EEPs (European Ex Situ Programmes) such as the White Lipped Tamarin (photo added)
Raise awareness and donate funds to conservation charities through education conservation initiatives and provide a conservation report each year
Continue our membership with the Tansy Beetle Action Group (TBAG), working to conserve the Tansy Beetle at our Ark sites. (photo added)
Inspire and teach the next generation – As we are also a College and University Hub, we facilitate the education and training for Wildlife and Animal management courses which reflects positively on our ethos as a Wildlife and Conservation Park.
Advocate a positive change – Askham Bryan Wildlife Park is open during weekends and school holidays; the Education Conservation team creates seasonal events with a focus on conservation and sustainability.
