Welcome to the Askham Bryan Wildlife Park Student Store! Here you will find a range of PPE which has been designed for you to wear when undertaking practical lessons within the Animal Sciences and Conservation Department, as well as external placements. Please select your course from the list below to see the options. Mandatory PPE to purchase will have an Asterix against it. This PPE is brand new to 24/25, with a brand new design and practicality in mind – we have stepped away from traditional overalls! We would like to ensure you represent the Animal Management department in attire which is modern and like for like industry standards.

Animal Management Level 3 – Collections and Conservation Pathway
As a level 3 Collections and conservation student across the two years you will study a range of different topics such as animal biology, animal health & welfare, Estate skills, Avian husbandry, exotics and aquatics. As part of the study programme to support these modules you will also complete weekly practical lessons within the Wildlife park and Companion animal centre and in Year 2 you will complete practical lessons at Flamingo land. To complete the practical lessons safely you will need PPE (Personal Protective equipment).

T-level Animal Management & Behaviour
As a level 3 T-level Animal Management & Behaviour student across the two years you will study a range of different topics. As part of the study programme to support these modules you will also complete weekly practical lessons within the Wildlife park and Companion animal centre and in Year 2 you will complete immersion weeks with work within the Kennel building. To complete the practicals safely you will need PPE (Personal Protective equipment).

Level 2 Animal Care
As a level 2 Animal care student you will study and range of different topics such as animal biology, animal health & welfare and behaviour and handling. As part of the study programme to support those modules you will also complete weekly practical lessons within the wildlife park and the Companion animal centre. To complete the practical safetly you will need PPE (Personal protective equipment).

Please allow for 4 weeks for your PPE to be in stock, we recommend ordering mandatory PPE as soon as possible to ensure you are prepared to participate in practical lessons and work placements. PPE ordered in advanced can be collected at the Animal Applicants days or it will be available for collection from Animal Management office during induction week in September.
Animal Applicants days are on Wednesday 3rd July and Wednesday 21st August
All students must wear work trousers (strictly no leggings) and Steel toe capped boots or wellies. These must be purchased independently.
