Shackleton Veterinary Physiotherapy

The safe and ethical treatment of Exotic Species

Aiming to empower Veterinary Physiotherapists with the underpinning knowledge and confidence, to treat a variety of species in an effective and ethical way. Taught using a variety of classroom theory and practical sessions. Led by Shackleton Veterinary Physiotherapy (Zoo consultants, exotics specialists and CPD providers), with guest lectures from respected professionals from the zoo and behavioural science industries.

Considerations:

  • All attendees must be a minimum of level 6 qualified e.g. BSc, as a Veterinary Physiotherapist. To ensure a strong base knowledge to build upon.
  • This programme has been designed with CPD hours in mind, to support cover for the treatment of exotics, from major insurance companies. However, it is the responsibility of attendees to check with their insurance companies that they would be covered for exotic animal treatment. As there is currently no standardisation in the field, and different companies have different requirements for cover.
